Second Rounds of Youth Essay Prize Competition: winners and the third call
The second round of competition was announced in May 2017 with a cut-off date at the end of August 2017.
The call invited young (under 30 years) citizens of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to submit essays of up to 3,000 words in English on any topic relevant to the Association Agreements & DCFTAs of their countries with the EU. At the end-August cut-off date, we had received 77 essays.
From the second call, four prizes of 500 EUR have now been awarded, to:
- Anastasiia Menshykova, 19 years, Odesa, Ukraine. Read the essay.
- Svitlana Zub, 27 years, Uzhhorod, Ukraine. Read the essay.
- Elene Panchulidze, 25 years, Tbilisi, Georgia. Read the essay.
- Victoria Romanov, 17 years, Rezina, Moldova. Read the essay.

Third call: submissions are now invited, following the same guidelines as indicated above. Submissions can be addressed at any time up until 31 August 2018, by e-mail to essayprize@ext.ceps.eu. There remain up to four prizes (500 EUR) to be awarded. The essays should be of good analytical and linguistic quality, and preferably choose a theme where the author is able to demonstrate knowledge in some depth through studies, research or professional experience. The essays should have an interesting argument or proposition to make. The winning prizes will be published here.
