Ukraine: 36 students win Erasmus Mundus scholarships to study in European universities

Thirty-six graduate students from Ukraine will this autumn start their Master's and Doctorate Programmes at Austrian, Dutch, British, Spanish, French, Italian, Belgian, German, Swedish and Portuguese universities. These opportunities have become available thanks to the successful enrolment of these students in the prestigious EU Erasmus Mundus Master and PhD programmes. Apart from these new Erasmus students, 28 current Ukrainian students who won their scholarships in the previous 2015 call will continue their studies on Master’s and Doctoral programmes in European universities, according to a press release from the EU Delegation in Ukraine.

ERASMUS+ is the European Union Programme for 2014-2020 to support projects, partnerships, events and mobility in the areas of education, training, youth and sport. Erasmus+ “Learning Mobility” for International Credit Mobility projects envisages cooperation between higher education institutions of the Programme and Partner countries, such as Ukraine, as well as other countries in the European Neighbourhood, for student and staff mobility based on inter-institutional agreements.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master and PhD programmes are delivered by partnerships of higher education institutions from Erasmus+ Programme and Partner countries. Degree mobility programmes cover study in two countries minimum, at least, and lead to Master’s or PhD degrees. Study duration is one to two years for Master’s programmes and three years for PhD programmes. Each year, applicants from all over the world are welcome to apply for study.
